Amazon or Walmart Retail Discs

There are two ways to download digital games from a disc purchase. For both methods, you will need to use the download code printed on your disc.

Directly:
  • Follow the link printed on the disc.
  • Follow the instructions on the page to use the code on your disc like a coupon.
  • Refresh your Game Launcher, and the whole pack’s content should be available to install in the Game Launcher.

    From the Legacy Store:
  • Find your exact game pack in our catalog and add it to your cart.
  • In your cart, enter your download code, and click apply. Your pack in the cart should now be $0.00.
  • Complete the purchase process.
  • Refresh your Game Launcher, and the whole pack’s content should be available to install in the Game Launcher.
  • The download code will be printed on the face of your disc. The link to redeem it will also be printed on your disc. Please note, some older copies of discs from Walmart may not have a code printed on the disc- if this is the case, please contact our customer service with a picture of the disc for verification and we will help you get that pack onto your account.
    We only sell the 10 packs on our online store so these packs will not accept your special download code for the 15 packs.

    Your credit card will be charged after your 7 day trial ends. If you need to change your credit card, head over to your My Account page.
    The free trial grants access to all membership perks for 7 days, except for the free monthly Superhero game pack reward.
    You will not be charged for the membership if you cancel before the free trial ends. Any purchase made before the membership trial ends is yours to keep. Please note, if you choose to resubscribe, you will not be granted another free trial.
    Hero Club discounts can be applied to any game pack on the website. They can be combined with sitewide sales and Rewards Club coupons, but cannot be used with the Weekly Deal pack, Make Your Own Pack, or membership plans.
    The monthly free game changes every 2nd or 3rd of the month. To redeem your free game, visit the Rewards page.

    1. Click the “Redeem” button to add the game to your cart.
    2. Enter the coupon code displayed on the Rewards Page in the coupon field to make your game free.
    3. Proceed to checkout.
    4. Download and play your game via the Legacy Games Launcher.

    This coupon cannot be combined with other coupons.
    You will receive your coupon reward automatically after your free trial and every time your subscription renews.

    On the Rewards page, go to the My Rewards section and click on Coupons tab. There you will find your reward. Copy the coupon code and use it during checkout, or click on Apply Coupon. It can be applied to any one game pack in our entire catalog.

    This coupon cannot be combined with other coupons or sales.

    *Note: For Superhero members that signed up before 11/16/2023, we awarded 21,000 points to your account every time your subscription renewed. These points will not expire and can still be converted to coupons.
    We’re sorry, per our policy, we are unable to offer substitutions for the Game of the Month for Hero members. We encourage you to discover and redeem your new, free monthly Hero games in the future.
    Any game pack redeemed will never expire or be deleted from your library after purchase.
    Your credit card on file will be charged on the same day each month after your free trial. From then on, you will be charged from that date each month.

    For example, if you first subscribed on August 10th, your free trial would end on August 17th, beginning your subscription. You would next be charged on September 17th, a month from your official subscription activation date.
    On your My Account page, select the Hero Club Subscription tab. From there, you can view your active membership subscription. Click on the Change Payment button and select your preferred payment method.

    We’re sorry. This error can happen if our servers are experiencing some connection issues or your Game Launcher is out of date. Please try these suggestions in the meantime:
    1. The Launcher was recently updated to version 1.13.0. There may be errors if you’re still using an older version. You can download the latest version here.
    2. Restart the Launcher.
    3. Restart your computer.
    4. Right-click on the Launcher shortcut icon and select “Run as administrator”
    5. Please check if you have an anti-virus program or firewall interfering with the download

    Please update to the latest Game Launcher, version 1.13.0. Then please logout and login again if you haven’t already.

    The Legacy Games Launcher updates include improvements to speed and functionality, patch bugs, and new features. To maintain access to your entire games library, please always make sure you are using the latest version of the games Launcher.

    The old versions of the Game Launcher are no longer compatible with any of our giveaway games. If any of your games have disappeared, please ensure you are using the latest version of the Game Launcher to access them.
    All games associated with your account will be available in the Game Library tab. Games appear under “Games” when installed, or under “Install” when ready to download and install.

    Remember, if you have more than one account, only those games associated with the account you used to log in will appear in the Game Library tab.​
    Previously installed games may not appear in the games launcher right away. Please uninstall any games downloaded from the Legacy Games website and reinstall them in the Legacy Games Launcher.

    You will not lose your save data! This data is stored in a separate location from where games are installed.

    For help connecting previous purchases to your Legacy Games account and Launcher, please contact us.
    If you are having any installation, launch, or uninstallation issues, please contact us about what game in particular is having these difficulties.

    If a game will not uninstall from the Launcher, they can also be uninstalled manually in your computer’s Systems Settings menu, under Apps & Features.

    Please prevent your computer from going to sleep during the download & install process to avoid installation errors.

    If you do not have Windows 10 or 11, this may be why the error is appearing as our newest Game Launcher version, v.1.12.0, was not built to support older operating systems.

    If you do not wish to update to Windows 10, please feel free to ignore this Game Launcher update. Version 1.10.0 should still run fine. You can download it here.

    If installing your games causes an antivirus warning, please let the software scan your games. Once they’re verified as safe, you will be able to complete the installation.
    If the actual installer screen still fails to start up the individual installers, you can try:

  • If you have Windows XP click on Start on the taskbar; if on Vista, Windows 7, 8.1, or 10, click on the Microsoft Logo on the taskbar.
  • Choose My Computer, Computer, or This PC on the menu that pops up.
  • Right-click on the CD/DVD drive where the disc is inserted, usually (D:), and choose Explore.
  • Locate the folder fscommand and double-click to open.
  • Locate the installer files, usually named GameTitle.exe.
  • Drag the files one by one onto your desktop to copy the files onto your PC.
  • Double-click these files to open them manually to start the installation process.

    Windows 10 is brand new and known to have compatibility issues. However, it has built in compatibility settings. Please see below for instructions on how to activate Compatibility Mode:

    1. Right-click on the game’s icon.
    2. Select Properties.
    3. Select the Compatibility tab.
    4. Check the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for:.
    5. In the drop down menu, select Windows XP (Service Pack 3) or Windows 7.
    6. Check mark the following other options:
      a. Disable visual themes
      b. Disable desktop composition
      c. Disable display scaling on high DPI settings
      d. Run this program as an administrator

    Please also ensure that you have the latest driver updates. Please run Windows Update and download the latest version of Microsoft DirectX here.

    Finally, depending on your computer’s setup, you may also need to update your hardware-specific video drivers. To do so, please follow the below instructions:

    1. Right-click on an empty part of your desktop.
    2. Select the Screen Resolution option.
    3. Click on Advanced Settings.
    4. A new window should pop up with the name of your monitor and video card.
    5. In the Adapter tab, next to your video card name, click on Properties.
    6. Another new window should pop up. Click on the Driver tab.
    7. Click on Update Driver then Search automatically for updated driver software.
    8. Follow the onscreen instructions.
    Most Legacy Games will run on Windows 11. However, some players have experienced performance issues running Domini games. Please contact our customer service if you experience an error on Windows 11.
    Users may face technical difficulties signing in since our system does not support Linux. Also, most of our games do not run on Linux.
    Microsoft recently added new security features to Windows that can block relatively unknown programs and publishers. Legacy Games is a small company that is trying to build its reputation with these new security features, but it may take some time.

    You may receive one of the following error messages when starting your game:

    • Application failed because of missing component d3dx9_33dll
    • DirectX error
    • DirectDraw or INTDirectdraw error

    These errors occur when DirectX 9.0 is not correctly installed, or an older version of DirectX is being used.

    Click on the following link to download and install the latest version of DirectX from Microsoft: DirectX update.

    If that does not work, please try downloading the following version of DirectX. This link will download many files for the update, so before downloading create a DirectX folder in your Documents folder. Then click on the following link and follow the instructions to download the files: DirectX files. Be sure to save the download files to the folder you made. Once the download is complete, open the folder you created and double-click on the dxsetup file. This will bring up an install wizard that will walk you through installing the updates. Once the wizard has finished you should be able to open and start the game.

    There is an issue with Eventide 3 in the Supernatural Stories 3 disc, in that it does not create the desktop shortcut correctly. To resolve this, please follow the below instructions:

    1. If you have Windows XP, click on Start on the taskbar; if on Vista, Windows 7, 8.1, or 10, click on the Microsoft Logo on the taskbar.
    2. Choose My ComputerComputer, or This PC on the menu that pops up.
    3. Open your main hard drive, usually labeled (C:).
    4. Open the folder named Program Files (x86).
    5. Open the folder named Legacy Games.
    6. Open the folder named Eventide 3.
    7. Inside this folder should be a file named Eventide3.exe.
    8. Double click on this file to start the game.
    9. If it works, you can then right-click on that file and select Send to and then Desktop (create shortcut).

    The price of our games at Walmart reflects the fact that Walmart buys at scale, ordering hundreds of games at one time. Because of this, they’re able to pass extra savings on to their customers.

    The vast majority of our game packs are not available in Walmart stores, however, and can only be found here at legacygames.com!
